OH MY!

Can you believe that Christmas is just over a week away!?!?  I am NOT ready!  There are still some great stamps available for Christmas, if you're like myself and haven't done your Christmas cards (hanging head in shame).  We have been having lots of fun down in Bellevue and Beth and I have many plans for the new year.  If you've signed up for the Fairy class that Beth is doing on Thursday this week, don't forget to bring a covered dish as we will have dinner together before class!  The class is full with 9 but maybe I can talk Beth into doing this again some time.

I have failed horribly!  That's right!  I'm the first to admit it...I was going to post 365 pics of cards in 365 days.  I feel quite certain that I made that many cards this year, but where are the pictures?  So...I am not one to give up so easily.  I am making this challenge to myself again in 2011.  I AM going to post 365 cards in 365 days.  I AM going to do it.  I am going to do it.  I am going to try to do it.  I hope I am going to do it. I think I can do it.  It's been a busy 2010!  Opening the shop, DD2 emergency surgery in Florida, DD1 wedding, DD2 moving to Denver, DD1 moving to Georgia, DS just being himself (whom I adore), and then of course DH.  Where did the year go????  There are lots of new classes being offered in 2011.  Check out the calendar at the bottom of this page.  January is up, but I'm out of time this morning, I have to get to the shop.  I will try and get February and March on the calendar tonight.  Have a wonderful Tuesday, and for heaven's sake...STAY WARM!

COPIC TECHNIQUE CLASS

Last Saturday was a Copic Marker Technique Class taught by our very own Lisa Henke, Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Alumni.  AMAZING!  I learned more in that two hours than I have since I bought my first one three years ago.  I had taken a class previously at another store, and have barely touched them since.  However, now...all I want to do is play with them!  I received the following e-mail from Pat Lawrence regarding the class:

"Can't believe what a great class on Copic markers. I am excited about the new things I learned and can't wait to get started on my cards. Am looking forward to the next class. Let me know.
Pat"

That's right, the next class!  The students Saturday asked if Lisa would do another class after the first of the year and of course she agreed to do so happily!  So, after the first of the year, we will be having another Copic 1 class as well as a Copic 2 class.

In the mean time, Donna Schepman let me know that http://www.carpediemstore.com/ is having an AMAZING sale on copics!  (Thanks Donna!) They are priced at almost wholesale!  And a FYI, even though I am not bringing the markers into the store, because I can't compete with icopic.com or carpediemstore.com, I am bringing in a REFILL station for those of you who want the convenience of having something right at home to refill your markers.  Let me know if there are certain #'s you really want to see me carry in refills.  More information will be coming on this later.  In the mean time, have a wonderful day!

10-10-10 10:10p.m.

It's October 10th, 2010. It is almost 10:10 p.m. I thought this was really cool, until DH said it's 22:10 not 10:10. I said I'm not in the military and have no plans of being in the military, therefore it is 10:10 p.m. He just laughed at me.

Had a great Baker's Dozen today and am excited that Just Rite will be in this week!! Congratulations to Chris Kuntz for naming our event on October 23, 2010 from 11 until 4. We will have different artists, live music, food, free make&take and lots of fun! Join us for what we hope will be the first annual "Which?Craft" at the shop.

My computer guy, Karl, will be coming over tomorrow afternoon to help me figure out the issues with my email that I've been having the past few weeks. Hopefully, with his help, I'll be emailing to you again with all the news and excitement! Until then, have a wonderful week!

M I A

Sorry that I have been M I A for the past two weeks. Computer problems. Nuff said. Lots of awesome Halloween stamps are in the shop as well as fall and Christmas. The classroom has been taken over by Christmas stamps! The deals are amazing. I had a lady stop in the shop the week after StampAway in Sharonville talking about this cool Halloween stamp she got at convention. She paid $11.00 for it. I had two of the same one for $5.50. What a deal. Barely used. Shop around before making that purchase and remember that every week or two, I change out product. We now have 40+ consignors and they are always glad to get their check every month. What a great way to have money to get new product or pay bills.
We're adding teachers weekly so watch your e-mail for upcoming class schedules(now that the computer is fixed) or better yet, stop by and pick up a calendar.
This is a last call for artists for our Which?Craft event on October 23rd. Call me at the shop and we'll talk!! Til later....

August is half gone!!!!!!

So I can't say if it's the heat or recovering from the wedding, but it's been two weeks and I'm still exhausted! I just can't seem to get moving again.
Here are a couple of pics from the wedding, again taken by me so excuse the quality (we're waiting on the professional ones). This is the groom and his brother and sister and of course DD1 with DD2 and DS. DS is leaving Sunday to go back to school and DD1 is with her husband in New York and DD2 is moving in October from Florida to probably Colorado. They're all going out into the world as I have raised them to do. I've heard of empty nest syndrome, but for the life of me, I don't have it. I think it's because there are too many pictures to be scrapbooked, too many stamps to stamped, and lots of wonderful friends to laugh with!!

Quick & Easy Christmas Treats

We are so fortunate to have well known local paper artist Terri Jones come and teach classes for us at C-Shore Creations! Her first class is Tuesday, August 24th. She's offering it at 12:30 and again at 6:30. You will make eight (8) Christmas treats in this class. I've posted some photos of a couple of them. Lots of fun and inspiration!! Call the shop and sign up today. (859)581-0960.

Fall Punch Art

This class is just too cute! I loved sitting in the Summer Punch Art class and the Fall Punch Art class is one I can't wait to sit in on either. There's just something about taking a small piece of scrap and turning it into something really cool to use on a card or scrapbook page! This class is on August 26th!

Yoga Cards for August

Betsy is always coming up with new and fun cards for us to make in our Yoga class. You can actually tell your husband your going to Yoga class and you're really stamping! These are too cute! You won't want to miss this one!!

Backgrounds II

This is an awesome class on Wednesday August 11th at both 12:30 and 6:30. It is not necessary for you to have taken Backgrounds I in order to take this class. Call the shop today to make your reservations!!!

The Wedding is over...

I am so sorry I haven't posted in almost a month, but as you can see, it's been crazy busy! Our oldest was married this past Friday. An absolutely beautiful bride! This is a quick picture for you. (taken by me before the ceremony, so you can imagine the state I was in. sorry for the imperfections.) It was a beautiful wedding and an amazing reception! She and the new hubby are on their honeymoon and will be moving to New York state next week. I ask for your prayers for the two of them.

I will be back in the shop tomorrow with regular hours! Whoohoo!! I am exhausted from the house full of company and all the goings on (the bachelorette party almost killed me, lol), but excited to not have any more boxes to make! By the way, to everyone who helped with the boxes, invitations, and everything else...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Everyone loved the boxes and I didn't see any in the trash!

Mouse in the House is tomorrow at 12:30 and again at 6:30. Don't forget to bring your own black stamp pad and white cardstock! Wednesday is "A Stitch in Time", which is booked solid with a waiting list. We will be offering this class again so stay tuned. Friday night is FIRST FRIDAY! The Dog Days of August! Bring your dog down and enjoy all the goings on! Til later...
