I hope this post finds you thinking about all those that you love and that love you. It's awesome to have friends and family that we care about and that care about us. Hopefully, that's how you feel about us at Your Stamping Cottage. Family. That's certainly how we feel about you!

I have a treat to show you! Someone has consigned this awesome tote on wheels along with a really cool storage box for your markers, ephemera, or tools. This is in perfect condition and I do have more pictures that I can send you if you're interested.

This would be a great gift for someone who is starting out and needs storage space. It would be awesome for the person who has been crafting for a while and needs some new storage items. I LOVE this pattern! The rolling tote and the lining of the storage chest are the same pattern. We're asking $40.00 for the tote and $20.00 for the chest. HOWEVER, if you would like both, (and who wouldn't, since they are a matched set), she's willing to sell them for $50.00! That's a $10.00 savings! I can tell you, you can't get these for that price anywhere else. Even with 40% off coupons. These are not in the shop due to space restraints, however, if you're interested I can have her bring them in for your inspection. Pictures really don't do these justice. Home Again!

What a wonderful time I had with my girls as we celebrated their 25th and 24th birthdays together! I've never had "empty nest syndrom", but there are time when I really miss them. Hard to believe that Justin will be gone in August! Paul and I are looking forward to the time alone, but how weird it will be. Oh well, just more time for STAMPING!!!

I will be re-opening the shop today. Hopefully illness and I know traveling are out of the way for a while. January is always a downer for me. I suppose it's the holidays being over. But February always makes me smile! Love is in the air. I have the most amazing husband; the most awesome children (even with all their drama, lol); and the most wonderful friends, students, customers, a person could ever hope for!!!

As February comes flying in on the wings of a songbird, literally, (where the heck was winter?), let's make a pledge to see each other and have some fun! You know where to find me :)

     For the past 2 1/2 days I have been cleaning my office. This is not my studio, but my office which is in one of the bedrooms. This is also where I do my altered art. So...it took all this time to clean it because I had really not done any work in there for quite a while and let's just say it had gotten out of control. (That's putting it mildly) This afternoon, I sat down at my desktop computer (which I haven't used in months) and was so pleased that my desk was clean, the floor was clean, drawers were labeled, (you get the idea), that I decided to go online. Now let me ask you a question. Have you ever googled yourself? Me either. But for some reason, I decided to google C-Shore Creations and Your Stamping Cottage. I was really surprised by what I found. There are two amazing comments about Your Stamping Cottage on YELP.com and one amazing comment for C-Shore Creations on Yellowbook.com.
     Now for those of you who don't know, my shop was originally called C-Shore Creations, inc. I then filed papers with the state changing the name to C-Shore Creations, inc dba Your Stamping Cottage. Thus two names.
     I knew you could comment on businesses on YELP, but didn't know about Yellowbook. The following is what I found on www.yellowbook.com through google.

New Year's Card From 2009

Happy New Year to each and every one of you! As I sat with the hubby last night talking about 2011 and making plans for 2012, I couldn't help but think about each of you. Those of you that I see often and those that I only see occasionally. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be doing what I love. So thank you.

I have lots of plans for the coming year and you are at the heart of those plans. I am going to do my best to post every day of 2012. The website is under way. E-mails are starting again. Please make sure that ramonabonita@fuse.net is in your email address book so that you don't miss out on all the news. If you don't recieve any e-mails from me, then check here as I will post each week's e-mail on the blog. That way you'll always be in the loop.

As always, the shop is YOUR Stamping Cottage. If there is something that you would like to see or a class you would like to have, please let me know. All Christmas stamps will be packed away next week. The shop re-opens on the 10th with a Mouse in the House class. Life news: The oldest daughter and her husband were home for a couple of days after Christmas, along with their two dogs. OMgosh! We had a wonderful time, but with a total of four dogs running around, to say it was wild is an understatement. My two dogs are 15 lbs and 50 lbs. Very docile, laid back, both are older dogs. Daughter's two dogs are 92 lbs and 25 pounds. Both VERY active. The larger is 2 years old, the smaller is 9 months. My dogs are worn out! We had a blast though. We went to the Festival of Lights which I had never done before and made a trip to Knit Happens on Monmouth in Newport. Daughter thought she had died and gone to Heaven. I have never seen so much yarn in all my life! She's self-taught, amazingly talented crocheter (not sure if this is a word), and is now teaching herself to knit. Son-in-law is making a rug for their porch out of rope. My son is home for the spring semester while he does his student teaching. So the trombone will constantly be playing. Youngest daughter is doing great in Colorado, making a life for herself, and staying very busy. She did say she is getting a tattoo on Tuesday. Of course that was last night as she was out with friends having drinks, ringing in the New Year. She knows I am not a fan, but she's an adult, what are you going to do. She's awesome! Very strong and determined to make her dreams a reality. Life is good at the Croushore home and I hope it is at your home as well. I wish you a healthy and happy New Year.

Yes, there are a ton of great local businesses here in Cincinnati with equally awesome owners. Wouldn't it be nice to give your favorite shopkeep a card saying, "My god, your store or restaurant or bar or place that I buy stuff rocks. Thank you for being in Cincinnati and being amazing!"

And so, we'll be making cards at Japp's. I'll bring all the materials (including stamps) and will even mail the card for you if you don't want to deliver. You just bring yourself and an idea of what store you want to write a card for.

We'll even have stamps and decorations and more being donated by the wonderful Your Stamping Cottage in Bellevue (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), which is a fantastic store if you haven't checked it out.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Our wonderful mixologist Molly Wellmann will be making special drinks just for this event with amazing drink specials (see what I did there.) We'll drink and be merry!

Wow, where has the year gone? I can't believe there is frost on my car windows this morning and that according to Marty P. there are only 54 days until Christmas!!! I'm far from being ready for this, how about you? I haven't even thought about a design for my Christmas cards, which is really ironic due to the fact that I teach Bakers Dozen and do a Christmas card design every month, lol. That and the fact that on November 29th I will be having my annual Christmas card class, where you know you'll make at least four cards, but could make up to 8. Oh well, there are still many days left, lol. (This is procrastination)

These are amazing cards that you really have to see. Marian always puts things on the inside of her cards to finish them off. (I personally have started doing this so that I don't have to write so much on the inside of my cards, lol)

I Love Peacock Feathers

I don't know what it is about peacock feathers other than I'm blown away by the colors. The past several years I've really been drawn to them. All my artwork now has a feather somewhere on it. Margy gave me the prettiest photo of a peacock from the Cinci Zoo that she took, blew up, painted the frame and spritz it with glimmer spray. So cool. Hangs in the shop. Beth found a metal embossed peacock mounted on wood at Good Will. Brought it to me, I took it home and repainted it with Smooch. Really cool. Hangs in the shop. Peacock feather butterfly on the cash register. Peacock feather in the brochure holder. Peacock feather fans over the markers. You get the picture, lol. Weeelllllllll....about a year ago I was talking to Marsha about peacocks and she mentioned that she has some in her neighborhood, way up north of Cincinnati, and they scream, and they make a mess and they molt. They lose their feathers. OMGosh! So I say to Marsha, if you ever get the chance, I would love to have a real peacock feather. Time passes....and passes....and passes....basically I forgot about this conversation. (I know that doesn't surprise some of you, lol) Last Thursday, Marsha's daughter Lindsey comes in the shop to bring some more stamps from her mom for consignment and she is followed by her fiance who is carrying a LARGE bag of ... ready for this?....PEACOCK FEATHERS!!! Oh my!! They are gorgeous! And so many! I went right out and got a vase for them and spent Friday arranging them. They are now in the class room. Marsha, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm sure I'm the only one who has ever done this. Bought a stamp on impulse. I found myself with several chair stamps. Don't know why. Have no clue. But I have quite a few. So what better way to use them then by having a class. That's how "Chair" Up came to be. You'll make 5 cards in this class and will use several different techniques. An Email I Received

I've been remiss in checking emails lately after all the issues I have had in recent months, lol. So tonight after getting the boy sent back to college, I sat down in the recliner with the laptop to check the 4 (that's right four) email accounts I now have. It was so good to see you last week!



I have to share this with you:



On the way home from our store, I got to thinking abou how much I'd spent. $80! OMG! I couldn't believe I'd spent that much! It really bothered me. Until I got home and emptied out my bags.



I bought a total of 14 stamps (actually 16 because there was a set of 3 together). Out of all those stamps, only 4 were used, or at least looked used. The rest looked brand new. I got to thinking about what I bought and realized that, for $80, I did darn good! I got 14 stamps, a stamp pad, some tags and a couple sheets of paper. And 2/3 of those stamps were NEW! I couldn't have bought that many stamps anywhere else without paying at least twice as much! Yippee for me!



Sigh, now the only problem is I'm running out of room in my craft room to store everything. (What a terrible problem to have : ) )

New Name and Vacation!

The shop will be closed July 23rd through July 30th for vacation. Please make a note of it so you won't be surprised if you come down to the shop!

Over the next several months you will see changes at C-Shore Creations, inc. We are extremely excited about these changes and hope that you will be as well. The past year has been awesome and has had a learning curve, lol. I have said all along that this is YOUR shop. Let me know what you would like and I would do my best to create it for you.

With that being said...as of today I have filed papers with the Secretary of State and C-Shore Creations, inc. will now be doing business as "Your Stamping Cottage"! We are excited about this as it will tell people what we do. The shop is "Your"s! We have a lot of fun "Stamping"! And we are in a "Cottage"! What better name. We will continue to have scrapbooking classes and items, as well as other mixed media. But the name will better describe what we are.

We are in the process of building a new website that will link to the blog. And as we have been doing for the past several months, we are trying to get the kinks worked out of the email problems. So join us as we celebrate this new chapter in our journey through creating!

In the first 10 minutes I learned more than I did when I took the class several years ago by someone who was not certified.

What an awesome day! Sold several more of our garden concrete statues. If you're waiting to buy yours, don't wait too long, they're flying out the door! Our new neighbor, Mackey, came by to visit with her friend Chereen (I apologize if I spelled this incorrectly).

Terri and Jan dropped by with a picture of what to expect in Terri's Envelope Surprise class next month; pretty cool!

Everyone had so much fun in Lisa's Summer Fun class tonight and are begging for more of the "Pure Innocence" stamps cards. We will hopefully be bringing in MFT's Pure Innocence line soon as well as MFT's awesome dies for cutting!

Tomorrow at 10:00 is Baker's Dozen with one opening and at 2:00 is the Dirty Dozen, with that class being full. If you're interested in the 10:00 class, stop down and take a chance that you're the first one there. You can call and see if anyone cancels at the last minute for the Dirty Dozen at two.

Patriotic cards can be challenging to say the least. It's funny when you have an idea for a class and you have the stamps, but you just can't put the two together in your head. That's where my friend Marian comes in. I asked her to design this class and she did an awesome job! I actually thought I had her stumped and then she took off with it. This class is going to be offered at 12:30 and again at 6:30 on Flag Day! June 14th! If you don't normally send July 4th cards, think about sending them to someone who is or has served our country with a note of thanks. A play on the name of the toy that I loved as a child! Etch-a-sketch. Stretch A Sketch is another way of being creative. So often we get in a rut and all our cards start looking the same. Every month I'm going to take a card sketch and design 5 cards using the same sketch. From elegant to cute. From sophisticated to fun. One sketch = Five different cards. I always struggle making sympathy cards. They seem to be a challenge to a lot of us according to most of you. So I have decided to have a class where you will make 5 sympathy cards. I am so excited to have Christy Rolf join our team of amazing teachers! Christy has been teaching Quilling for a number of years and has graciously agreed to join us at C-Shore Creations, inc. Next Thursday night is Quilling 1 at 6:30. Another Day of Rain! Take a class!

Personally, I love the rain. It cools the air down and ya'll know how I am about the heat. But at some point, I need to have my yard mowed. As if that's not enough, today, in between thunderstorms, the AC guys are here to replace our air conditioner because after only 8 years, it has decided to die. Builders, not all but at least ours, will put in the most cost effective for them, not the best quality for you. I grew up in Florida where air conditioners lasted 15 years. Oh, well, time to stamp!

Today is Baker's Dozen and it is a full class. However, if you're out in the rain and want to stop by, come on down! Tomorrow is "This Little Pigment". Susan will have you make 5 cards using pigment inks in different ways. I don't know about you, but I seem to leave my pigments on the shelf and I gravitate toward my dye inks. Hopefully, this will show us ways to bring those pads off the shelf and give them new life! The cards are pictured below in last weeks post and are gorgeous!!

Next Wednesday, Susan is revisiting your brass templates. Another item that we buy 'cause we have to have them and then we never use them. We had this class back in the fall and are revisiting it due to many requests. Call and sign up so you don't miss out!

Candy Bar Wrapper Class with Terri

Tomorrow night is the April layout class with Cathy. She has created 2 12 x 12 double page layouts; one is Easter themed and the other is beautiful with dark pinks. This class is almost full, so call and sign up today!

Well, it will be a crazy last day of my first year in Bellevue. Got a list a mile long, but can't wait to get going on it. THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart! I never dreamed that I could open my little shop on $300.00 and have it turn into what it is today, just one year later. It's all because of YOU! Each and every one of you!

Tomorrow night from 6-9 we're going to Party at the Shop! Food, makentake, prizes, and live music!! The duo that were going to play had to cancel at the last minute, but sometimes things work out. An amazing young man, Ryan, will be playing and singing for us! Not only is he extremely talented, but not hard to look at either, lol. Happy New Year! What an amazing 2010 it was and I know already it will be an even more awesome 2011! Life is good. Children are healthy, safe, and happy. Husband is awesome, as always. Friends are abundant and faithful!!! I am forever grateful for the people in my life and want you to know how special you are to me. Stop by the shop and see alll the stamps that have come in. Christmas is packed away and Valentine and St. Patrick's Day are out on the shelves. As well as dozens and dozens of SU sets! OMgoodness!!!! Prices are amazing. For instance, I bought the set "Stampin Stella" on ebay 5 years ago for between 40-50 dollars. She's in the shop for under $20.00! That's just one example. Paper Transformed

Susan is starting a series of classes based on the book Paper Transformed. This class will give you the opportunity to try new and differeeent things that you might never try or even think of. It basically is exactly what the title describes, transforming paper with inks, paints, mediums, etc. This class will be offered the third Wednesday night each month until the book runs out of ideas, lol. ME & MY

Me is a 9 year old or older and My is the 9 year old's adult. Mom, Dad, Grandma, etc. Cindy Grammel from Fusion Gallery asked me one day if I had any classes she could do with her granddaughter and I said I didn't. After I thought about it awhile, I thought this would be a great idea! So, January 29th is the first Me & My class. It is at 2:00 and will cost $10.00 per person. In January we will be making cards, February 26th we will do a mini scrapbook, and March 19th we will alter a picture frame. There has been quite a bit of interest in this class and space is limited. Be sure and call me as soon as possible to sign up. If there is a need, I will offer this class more than once a month.

ABC'S OF TECHNIQUES

I taught this class a couple of years ago and it was an amazing success!!! Over 50 people ended up taking this class. It is a series of 26 techniques. The classes run through July. We will learn four techniques a month and at the end of the series you will have a 6x6 book showing all the techniques as well as written instructions for each one. Make up classes will be offered. The cost of each class is $15.00. For those of you who may be missing a few from the previous classes, this is your chance to finish your book.

In January we will be doing A - alcohol ink; G - ghosting; R - reflection; and S - Shaving Cream. Check your book and see if you have these four. If you don't have a book, you need one. So many people have come to me and said that they have been stumped for ideas and then they look in their book and find something they haven't done is awhile and off they go. Call and sign up soon!

Can you believe that Christmas is just over a week away!?!? I am NOT ready! There are still some great stamps available for Christmas, if you're like myself and haven't done your Christmas cards (hanging head in shame). We have been having lots of fun down in Bellevue and Beth and I have many plans for the new year. If you've signed up for the Fairy class that Beth is doing on Thursday this week, don't forget to bring a covered dish as we will have dinner together before class! The class is full with 9 but maybe I can talk Beth into doing this again some time.

I have failed horribly! That's right! I'm the first to admit it...I was going to post 365 pics of cards in 365 days. I feel quite certain that I made that many cards this year, but where are the pictures? So...I am not one to give up so easily. I am making this challenge to myself again in 2011. I AM going to post 365 cards in 365 days. I AM going to do it. I am going to do it. I am going to try to do it. I hope I am going to do it. I think I can do it. It's been a busy 2010! Opening the shop, DD2 emergency surgery in Florida, DD1 wedding, DD2 moving to Denver, DD1 moving to Georgia, DS just being himself (whom I adore), and then of course DH. Where did the year go???? COPIC TECHNIQUE CLASS

Last Saturday was a Copic Marker Technique Class taught by our very own Lisa Henke, Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Alumni. AMAZING! I learned more in that two hours than I have since I bought my first one three years ago. I had taken a class previously at another store, and have barely touched them since. However, now...all I want to do is play with them! I received the following e-mail from Pat Lawrence regarding the class:

"Can't believe what a great class on Copic markers. I am excited about the new things I learned and can't wait to get started on my cards. Am looking forward to the next class. Let me know.

That's right, the next class! The students Saturday asked if Lisa would do another class after the first of the year and of course she agreed to do so happily! So, after the first of the year, we will be having another Copic 1 class as well as a Copic 2 class.

We don't really want it to snow, but we can pretend and then it's easier to drive.

There is SO much more you can do with Marvy Markers! That's what makes them SO marvelous! Join us and learn how you can achieve different watercolor effects using your markers!

For those of you that would like to use the same colors as used in class, here is a list of the markers:

#5 Yellow, #6 Brown, #7 Orange, #8 Violet , #11 Light Green, #15 Olive Green, #33 Oriental Blue,

We've all got them, but what to do with them? Join us for "Bet Your Brass" and learn some really nifty things you can do with brass templates! You will try your hand at 6 different techniques and receive instructions that include other variations as well. We will be concentrating on the techniques, but you will receive all the materials to complete 6 different cards.

It's October 10th, 2010. It is almost 10:10 p.m. I thought this was really cool, until DH said it's 22:10 not 10:10. I said I'm not in the military and have no plans of being in the military, therefore it is 10:10 p.m. He just laughed at me.

Had a great Baker's Dozen today and am excited that Just Rite will be in this week!! Congratulations to Chris Kuntz for naming our event on October 23, 2010 from 11 until 4. We will have different artists, live music, food, free make&take and lots of fun! Join us for what we hope will be the first annual "Which?Craft" at the shop.

My computer guy, Karl, will be coming over tomorrow afternoon to help me figure out the issues with my email that I've been having the past few weeks. Hopefully, with his help, I'll be emailing to you again with all the news and excitement! Until then, have a wonderful week!

Sorry that I have been M I A for the past two weeks. Computer problems. Nuff said. Lots of awesome Halloween stamps are in the shop as well as fall and Christmas. The classroom has been taken over by Christmas stamps! The deals are amazing. I had a lady stop in the shop the week after StampAway in Sharonville talking about this cool Halloween stamp she got at convention. She paid $11.00 for it. I had two of the same one for $5.50. What a deal. Barely used. Shop around before making that purchase and remember that every week or two, I change out product. We now have 40+ consignors and they are always glad to get their check every month. What a great way to have money to get new product or pay bills.

We're adding teachers weekly so watch your e-mail for upcoming class schedules(now that the computer is fixed) or better yet, stop by and pick up a calendar.

Christmas Ornaments

These are adorable and photos don't do them justice. They're glittery and shiny and two sided, I just can't say enough about them. And they are a great idea for those Just Rite stamps that you may have just ordered!! Stop by and see them in person today!

Bag Wrap & Go

By special request, I am offering a Halloween card class on Wednesday, September 22nd at both 12:30 and 6:30. The evening class is full with a waiting list so another class may be scheduled. There are two seats left in the day class. Call the shop today to sign up!
